Here’s how Brentford’s players rated in their 3-2 win over Millwall.

David Raya 6

Little to do and looked more like a spare defender such was the time the ball spent at his feet. The only save that needed stopping took a wicked deflection he could only parry into the grateful path of Bradshaw.

Rico Henry 7

Got forward ample and delivered a number of teasing crosses that weren’t finished. Not much more the left-back can do in an attacking sense.

Julian Jeanvier 6

Looked rarely troubled in open play. Matched the speedy Jed Wallace for pace but looked vulnerable at set-pieces against a powerful Lions pack.

Pontus Jansson 7

The ‘best defender Brentford have had in years’ the fans say. And they aren’t wrong. There’s not much else he can do.

Henrik Dalsgaard 6

Another steady performance from the wing-back. Not known for standing out in both defence or attack and on a day when the opposition were camped deep in their own half for large segments of the game, you’d like a right back who’s capable of beating the first man.

Christian Norgaard 5

Made a number of vital interceptions in the middle of the park and switched play well, albeit at a slow pace. Too often he played a pass backwards.

Mathias Jensen 5

Should’ve opened the scoring inside five minutes, maybe he was surprised to find himself that far forward. Wasn’t used to the physical nature of the visitors, something he’ll need to get used to in this league. Looks a step-down from a certain Romaine Sawyers.

Kamohelo Mokotjo 6

Brentford’s most composed player in the middle. Did everything with a touch of pace and tackled with the bite many of his teammates lacked.

Nikos Karelis 5

Battled well but up against a physical duo of Hutchinson and Cooper he was offered little change. Unlucky to see his effort hit the post in the first half before being substituted through injury on 45minutes.

Ollie Watkins 5

He’s not a centre forward. Found himself in great positions but too often made the wrong decision. A poor first half compounded by a penalty save wouldn’t have done his confidence much good.

Said Benrahma 7

Brentford’s best attacking threat. Trickery and pace to bamboozle most, the winger popped up in all positions. Made a few stray passes and shot well wayward on occasion but otherwise lit up a dull Bees frontline.

Subs:

Josh Dasilva – took his goal well and always looked to get forward. 7

Bryan Mbeumo – The bright spark Bees needed going forward. Goal and assist, deserve a start now. 8
