Enfield Ignatians completed an unbeaten pre-season campaign by coming out 58-14 winners away at Biggleswade on Saturday.

With wins over Braintree and Stockwood Park already secured in the build-up to the new season, this is a winning feeling that Ignatians won’t want to part with going into the new campaign.

In a largely one-sided game, Ignatians ran 10 tries. Lucas Yoxall, Hadee Fayaz and Charlie Hoy both grabbed two, while Dom Nott, Sam Emery, Carl Asare-Henderson and Ryan Browne also added their names to the scoresheet.

Jack O’Toole then provided three conversions, with the fourth coming from Jake Bates.

Despite the dominant scoreline, head coach Shane Manning felt as though there was a lot the side could improve on.

He said: “We did some good things [against Biggleswade] but there are also a shed load of things to work on in our next two training sessions. Although, overall, we can’t be happy with that.”

The first team kick off their London 3 North West campaign this coming Saturday away to Old Streetonians.

There was also a win for Ignatians’ development side as they won their final pre-season match, coming from behind to beat Belsize Park IVs 15-10.
