Harefield have returned to pre-season training ahead of the 2019-2020 season.

On a warm evening half a mile from the club’s ground, 50 players from the club’s 1st team to the Under 18 side started training ahead of the first pre-season game in a few weeks.

The majority of last year's side is still with the squad but Adam Willis has left the club to become a manager at Colliers Wood and has taken Joe Clifton with him.

Jason Shaw is expecting to keep the squad together that won the club promotion last season but will be looking to bring in two or three new faces before the season starts in early August.

Shaw is also in confident mood ahead of the new season, believing the club should be aiming for a top-five finish in the Spartan South Midlands Premier, their first appearance in the division for more than five years.

Shaw is looking forward now to the pre-season schedule getting underway and has picked games against a variety of sides from divisions above and below.

With a return to step 5 football this season, the club still has to wait over a month to find out their fixtures.

With the promotion, there is increased travelling distances for the team to deal with but Shaw is looking forward to playing against Broadfields in a local derby and against Fergus Moore’s Edgware town.

Harefield starts their pre-season schedule away to AFC Hayes on Saturday 6th July at Brunel University's 3G pitch.
