Daniel Dubois is set to meet fellow Frank Warren promoted stablemate Joe Joyce in a hugely mouthwatering British heavyweight title showdown later in the year, writes Ziad Chaudry.

The 21-year-old from Greenwich was drawn into an all-out fist fire exchange with Richard Lartey before sparking out the very game Ghanian opponent with a right hand in four rounds last Saturday at SSE Arena, Wembley.

Dubois, who advances his unbeaten record to eleven victories, including ten KO's knew and added the WBO Global title to his professional belt collection.

He knew the 28-year-old from Accra, Ghana with a decent 14-1 record, came here to win in this thrilling encounter.

"It was a fire fight," admits Dubois.

"I was still basically trying to hit him with hurtful shots.

"My defence left my mind for a first few rounds then I thought I need to be clever, need to be smart and pick my shots.

"I hit him with a good shot and caught him on the point where I wanted to all night so it was a lesson learnt."

Both himself and Joyce are set to appear on the undercard of Billy Jo Saunders vs Shefat Isufi WBO world super-middleweight title bill at Stevenage FC on May 18 . He believes he can beat the 33-year-old Commonwealth champion from Putney.

"Definitely," Dubois continued. "As long as the preparation is right, I stay focused, listen to the people around me, I'll beat anyone I believe."

Also on the undercard Welling's super-featherweight 'Sharpshooter' Archie Sharp preserved his unbeaten record with a second round TKO over Nicaragua Sergio Gonzalez while Bromley-based middleweight Caoimhim Agyarko scored a first round over Martin Kabrihl.
