Waltham Abbey’s inconsistent run of form continued as they lost a 4-3 thriller away at Chalfont St Peter in the Bostik League South Central Division.
Rob Clark and Rimmel Daniel were on target for Abbey, with a Mark Goodman own goal adding the other for them in a game where all seven goals came in the final 25 minutes.
Ryan Debattista broke the deadlock on 65 minutes when he collected a long ball in the area and rounded the keeper, but Abbey were level within a minute when Clarke equalised.
Michael Kalu restored the lead when he powered into the top corner but a Mark Goodman own goal on 82 minutes levelled the game once more.
Chalfont finally took advantage and scored twice more through Kalu’s tap-in and Adam Morris’ penalty, with Rimmel Daniel’s stoppage-time strike not enough to spark a comeback.
Abbey next play this Saturday when they host Bedfont Sports.
