Six weeks into the South London & Kent Pool Alliance winter season and it looks like the Premier Division title will be going to one of the current top two teams, Allstars or Hotshots, as they are currently eleven points clear of the chasing pack.

Allstars have kept up their record of scoring double figures in every match so far, with a, 13-2 triumph over New Eltham.

This result sends New Eltham second bottom but Allstars are eight points ahead of Hotshots, at the top of the table.

Along with Allstars, Hotshots maintained their 100% record, after beating, Eltham Terrace Club A by 9 frames to 6.

The highlight of the night was some great clearances by Richard Chapman, which earned him a hat-trick.

Leading the chasing pack are Hustlers, who lost the first frame against Eltham Terrace Nuthouse this week, but Hustlers won the next seven frames, before Louis Wilbourne stopped the rot.

Hustlers took the last frame of the second set, to have the match won before the final set, which is just as well because Nuthouse won the final set, 4-1 to make the score a more respectable, 9-6 to Hustlers.

Nuthouse are now in sixth, as they were overtaken by neighbours Eltham Terrace Rovers, after they beat bottom team, Rugrats.

Rugrats had the better start, winning the first two frames, but Rovers took the next seven in a row, before Rugrats won the last frame of the second set to make the score, 7-3.

That soon became, 10-3 with Rovers taking the first three frames of the final set, but Rugrats won the penultimate frame before Rovers finished it off with the last frame frame to make it, 11-4.

Rovers looked to new signing Adam Coppen and stalwart Ryan Francis for the victory, after they both scored three out of three.

This result leaves Rugrats still looking for their first league win this season, the last remaining team in the league to be doing so.

Sharks pulled further away from Rugrats this week and are now just one point and one place behind their opponents, Pickwick.

Pickwick made too many mistakes in this match and got bitten, as Sharks capitalised on the errors.

George Taylor and Scott Reeves won their first frames for Sharks but man of the match went to Rahat Munim, who out-fudged his way to a hat-trick, to help his team to the, 9-6 victory.

The top two teams may be running away with it but there are only sixteen points between fourth and tenth, so it will be a real fight to see who stays in the division.

Bexleyheath Working Mans Club became the third team to record an unbeaten six match run this season, to extend their lead at the top of SLKPA Division Two to fourteen points.

This week they beat Real Hustlers by 12 frames to 3 to leave them second from bottom in the table, 29 points ahead of Lord Kitchener, who couldn’t field a team this week, giving Happy Hustlers a walkover.

Happy Hustlers are the sandwich in the table between two teams from New Eltham, who played each other this week.

It was New Eltham Social Club who secured the bragging rights over New Eltham New Boys, after they won, 9-6 to lead the chase on Bexleyheath.

Rose Inn brought their run of two straight defeats to an end with a, 10-5 victory over Just Bellegrove to hold onto second place in SLKPA Division One.

Rose got off to a perfect start, whitewashing the first set, 5-0 but Bellegrove battled back in the second set and only went down, 3-2 which included a break and dish from Rose Inn’s Leighton Aston.

With the score at, 8-2 the match was already won, so Rose may have taken their foot off the gas a little in the final set, as Bellegrove took it, 3-2.

Rose Inn are now four points behind the league leaders, Crayford Arms after they also picked up a valuable victory against Academicals.

It was a close match with Crayford winning each set by the odd frame, 3-2 for an overall, 9-6 triumph.

The highlight of the night was a top quality frame in the first set between two players that should really be in the top division, Tony Gear and Akar Necati and it was Necati who triumphed for Crayford.

Their battle recommenced at the beginning of the second set and Necati came out on top again.

Academicals started strongly in the third set, but great clearances from Ian Stringer and Brett Crawley secured the win for Crayford.

Crawley came out on top as the only unbeaten player on the night, winning both of his frames.

Academicals are now in fourth, one place ahead, but equal on points with Eltham Terrace Rack Pack, who this week beat CSC Sorry in Advance to go five points ahead of them.

Ernie Wellhausen and Steve Heather both won three out of three in Rack Pack’s, 10-5 triumph and Alison Cable was also unbeaten with a brace.

Bellegrove A recorded an unlikely second victory of the season this week, New Eltham Club were not only five places and eleven points ahead of them but Bellegrove also only had four players.

New Eltham started stronger, taking the first set, 3-2 but Bellegrove are made of stronger stuff and each of their four players were victorious in the second set to give them a, 6-4 lead going into the final set.

Bellegrove went on to take the first two frames of the last set to secure a fantastic win, before New Eltham won the last three frames to make the score a more respectable, 8-7.

Dan Brown and John Skuza won two of their three frames but Joe Hills went one better with an unbeaten hat-trick.

New Eltham are now twelve points behind the top two but they have a game in hand and it is close at the bottom with just six points separating the bottom four.
