PALACE boss Patrick Vieira is "desperate" to keep hold of talisman Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha is one of Palace's key players and continued to show his importance to the club by netting 14 times in 33 Premier League appearances last season.

The attacker has regularly been linked with an exit from Selhurst Park, however, despite constant rumours and links in the media, he has always remained at the club.

Vieira is determined to keep hold of the 29-year-old as he is aiming to continue his project at the club.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It wouldn’t be a transfer window without Wilfried Zaha’s name popping up as he gets linked probably every summer.

“But Vieira will be desperate to keep him, he’s trying to build something at Crystal Palace right now, and Zaha is one of the more experienced players at Selhurst Park, while he’s got all of the younger players around him as well.”

Palace are in a position where Zaha is not as crucial as he has been before, with talents such as Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze proving to be Premier League quality. The bonus is that the two attackers are still very young is key.

Zaha is the club's top earner with a reported wage of £130,000 per week, although his contract will expire at the end of next season. If he does now renew terms with Palace then he could leave the club for free.

In the past, clubs such as Tottenham, Arsenal and Roma have been linked with the Ivorian attacker.
