MILLWALL are closing in on the signing of promising Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell ahead of a season-long loan.

The Lions have agreed on terms with the Yorkshire club over a deal for Cresswell and are expected to complete the deal once a medical has been taken, according to The Athletic.

The 19-year-old has been on an extra week of holiday after taking part in all four of England Under 21's European Qualifying campaign matches.

Cresswell will bring Premier League experience to the Den having played seven times in the competitions last season, however, he is now wanting more game time as he is behind Robin Koch, Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk all currently ahead of him in the Leeds squad.

Millwall finished ninth in the Championship last season but are hoping to push for a spot in the play-offs next term.

The Lions have also completed deals for George Honeyman from Hull City, Benik Afobe from Stoke City and Zian Flemming is a club-record signing from the Dutch topflight.
