The day was filled with character, twist, confusion, and a satisfying final with home team winner Vex Green winning the tournament with their respective partner allowing them to qualify to the next stage nationals.

I was lucky enough to attend this tournament along with my team VRADZ. Team VRADZ coming into the tournament were the underdogs with other robots looking considerably better than theirs. However, this didn’t stop them from putting on a stunning show. They started the day with a win that put them up to 13th place by game 3 they were in 7th place with a chance to move into 3rd.  a chance they snapped up. Still the highlight of the day was still to come with team VRADZ going on an unbelievable 4 game unbeaten run putting them in solid 1st place. Nevertheless, their luck ran out with 2 shocking defeats knocking them into 6th place however with favourable results from other matches and a comfortable win in the last match put them into 4th place booking them into the quarter final and putting them in a decent position.

Excitement was at all time high before team VRADZ first game in the quarter finals. Little did they know this was the end of the road with team VRADZ chosen team managing to get disqualified after an accidental violation of the rules.

This left heartbreak for the team however team captain Aryan released a motivating statement afterwards.

‘I think we did quite well. We did some things well, but could do more to improve’

Team driver Zack Scott on the other hand was quite bitter after the event stating

‘I was the best driver’ and ‘the first rule of anything is not to trust your enemy or your teammates’
