ADDICKS boss Johnnie Jackson has called his team "chalk and cheese" after their disappointing performance against Crewe.

Charlton were beaten 2-1 despite having plenty of confidence before the game from their showing against Premier League side Norwich City on the weekend.

Charlton manager Johnnie Jackson said: "I thought we started the game really well, we were moving the ball nicely and getting it into good areas and we just stopped doing that in the second half of the first half.

"It was a really disappointing period of the game and we have conceded poor goals.

"Going 2-0 down in a game that for 25 minutes you have completely dominated at half time, it can be a mad game at times.

"Chalk and cheese from Sunday, it is a hard one to explain, we have enough experience that should be able to deal with it."

Charlton had thought they had equalised but were denied when the linesman's flag.

Jackson said: “He (Jonathan Leko) was in the Crewe goalkeeper’s line of sight, that’s the reason it wasn’t given. But I thought their keeper tried to save it but it looped over his head.

“I’m saying the same things every game. We moved the ball around but it was just the final pass. We had so many chances to win the game.

“Something is wrong and players are not taking personal responsibility for putting the ball in the goal. We have got to be better.

“The one positive to take was Mason (Burstow) coming on to get his first league goal. The young lad has made an impact from the bench.”
