ADDICKS defender Ryan Inniss saw plenty of positives from the team despite their cup exit to Norwich City on Sunday.

Charlton missed out on a spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup after Norwich City ran out 1-0 winners at The Valley.

After full time, the 26-year-old said: “It’s very disappointing given the way we played. I think the boys are excellent all over the park, the way we started the crowd got behind us.”

Despite the loss, Inniss thinks there are a lot of positives in the team’s performance: “In a couple of months you’ll look back at the fixture and it’s still a loss but take nothing away from the application today from the boys.”

“I think if we can now do that again on Wednesday against Crewe and then going into the weekend, we can give other teams a real test.”

Innis is still recovering from injury but is making solid progress, he said: “Of course, with every game every minute, I feel fitter and stronger.

“It’s just having to obviously recover and look after myself but the club have given me every platform to do so.”

Charlton's next match is against Crewe Alexandra on Wednesday.

The defender is hoping his side will continue the level of performance that they showed against the Canaries, he said: “We set the bar today.

“That’s how we can play and that’s how we have to play every week now.

“If we’re anything less than that, then we need to take a look at ourselves.”
