PALACE striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has been tipped to leave the club once his loan spell ends.
Mateta was signed by Roy Hodgson last January on an 18-month loan deal from Bundesliga side Mainz.
He has gone on to make only 14 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles, scoring three goals including one on the weekend against Millwall in the FA Cup.
The French striker has struggled to make an impact at Selhurst Park and has fallen behind Christian Benteke, Odsonne Eduard, Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha in the pecking order.
Football journalist Tom Barclay believes that the striker will leave the club once his loan expires and that they will not try to sign him on a permanent deal.
Barclay told GiveMeSport: "I know Mateta scored the other day, but unless he goes on an incredible run, I'm not convinced that Vieira is convinced by him.
"So I'm expecting him to return from his loan rather than Palace sign him permanently."

The 24-year-old's record in Germany had been very good as he netted 24 goals in 67 league appearances.
