FC Barcelona beat Girona 3-1 in the second friendly of the preseason in a game that saw new signing Memphis make his first appearance and even score a goal. Including young debutant defensive midfielder Nico González - will he become an influential player for the club? 

 

Girona managed to gain one at this stage, Samu Saíz converted from the spot ‘a la Panenka’. Memphis Depay then came on to a rapturous applause, and his flair immediately brought a new intensity to the game.

Five minutes before the game, Futbol Club Barcelona were awarded a penalty, the crowd chanted Memphis’ name and got what they wanted, the Dutchman had struck. 

 

It may have only been a friendly but it was an amazing experience for all the fans, excited to see their new signing. 

 

It was a victory at Estadi Johan Cruyff.
