No unbeaten teams left in SLKPA

In Tier Two West, Rack Pack had a shock defeat, going down, 2-1 & 9-6 to Bellegrove, who only had four players. 

This result puts Bellegrove one point ahead of their opponents at the top of the table, although they have played one more match. 

The Tier Two West title will go all the way to the final week as the teams in third and fourth, Pickwick and Bellegrove A are only one point behind Rack Pack. 

Pickwick kept up their challenge with an impressive, 2-1 & 11-4 triumph over Fox & Hounds. 

They didn’t have it all their own way though, as after going, 2-0 up, Alan Dolan and Clive Forrest equalised, with Forrest potting a great long doubled black to tie the match. 

This was followed by a win for Kerry Wyatt to give Fox & Hounds the first set, 3-2. 

Pickwick then rattled off eight unanswered frames, including a break and dish in frame twelve for Paul Dawson to complete his hat-trick. 

Dave Pile joined Dawson on three frame wins. 

Fox & Hounds are now two points ahead of Hustlers Daves at the bottom, who did not have a game this week. 

Farmhouse are on the same points as Fox but are one place ahead after this week’s match against Bellegrove A. 

Before this match there was only one place but four points between the two sides however, this was a great night of pool in a very close match, that finished, 2-1 & 8-7 to Bellegrove.  

Farmhouse won the opening frame, but Bellegrove took the next two, before John Denahy equalised sending the set into a decider. 

Nick Brown held his nerve to beat Bellegrove Captain, John Skuza to give Farmhouse an early, 3-2 lead. 

Bellegrove nudged themselves into the lead, with the first two frames of the second set however, Farmhouse won the next two to restore their overall lead and force another set decider. 

This time it went to Bellegrove’s Petrina Pearce, to tie the match at, 1-1 & 5-5. 

Ben Walsh scored a personal two out of two and Kevin England an unbeaten hat-trick to put Bellegrove on the hill. 

Nick Brown joined England on three frame wins to pull one back for Farmhouse, before Peter Moult won the match for Bellegrove in the penultimate frame. 

Keeping the match tight, Denahy won the last frame to give Farmhouse a second hat-trick hero in the match. 

The other team to lose their unbeaten record were Sharks from the Elite League. 

They went down to Hotshots, 3-0 & 9-6, which has closed the gap at the top of the table to two points, with Sharks still top and the next three teams all on thirteen points. 

Despite the loss, Vu Son and Eno Idiong both performed a break and dish, but it was Hotshots’ night with Danny Kelliher and Ryan Francis both scoring three out of three. 

In between Sharks and Hotshots in the table are Cocked Hats in second and third placed Bull Tavern, who both won, 3-0 & 10-5 this week. 

Bull Tavern’s opponents were New Eltham New Stars, whereas Cocked Hats were beating bottom of the table, Rugrats. 

The first set was extremely close, with the first two frames being shared before George Covington and Elliott Giles won two on the bounce for Cocked Hats to give them the set. 

Steve Gibson won the fifth frame to cut the deficit to one frame. 

The first two frames of the second set went to Cocked Hats, extending their overall lead to, 5-2. 

Gibson pulled another back, but that would be their only frame of the set, as Giles and George Taylor put Cocked Hats on the hill. 

Rugrats looked to be staging a comeback, winning the first two frames of the last set to bring the overall score back to, 7-5, but Cocked Hats won the final three frames to secure maximum points. 

Taylor and Giles were the top performers for Cocked Hats, both winning all three of their frames. 

The remaining game in the division was between Eltham Terrace Nuthouse and Rose Inn and it was a fantastic night for Nuthouse, thrashing the team above them, Rose Inn, 3-0 & 14-1 to leapfrog them and go three points ahead of them. 

It was a disappointing night for Rose, not winning a frame until the twelfth and they had their Captain, Neil Mundy to thank for that. 

It was a superb all round team performance from Nuthouse with, Shane Hutley, Jon Syta, Scott Reeves, Danny Kent, Craig Jones, and Trevor Biggs all winning two out of two frames and Dave Sparey was also unbeaten in his only frame. 

The top two in SLKPA Tier Two East, Bears and Falconwood Club appear to be pulling away, as they are on seventeen points, four points clear of their nearest rivals, after they both recorded, 3-0 & 12-3 triumphs this week. 

Bears remain top after their victory against bottom of the table Bexleyheath Working Men’s Club. 

Bexleyheath only had four players and that proved decisive in the opening set, as the first four frames were shared, with Bears taking the set on a bye in the fifth. 

That was as close as it got for Bexleyheath, as they only won one of the remaining ten frames. 

Bears were roaring this week, with Paul Cobbold winning both of his frames, but Gary Mason, Gary Heath and Jamie Phillips all went one better with unbeaten hat-tricks. 

Falconwood Club kept up their fight for the title, beating Sidcup Working Men’s Club this week. 

Akar Necati and Ian Stringer were the inspiration behind the triumph, both winning all three of their frames. 

Four points behind the top two are Bellegrove Flyers and they played their nearest rivals, Academicals this week. 

It was a close game which ended up with Academicals closing the gap on their opponents to one point after a, 2-1 & 8-7 victory over them. 

Happy Hustlers picked up their first win of the season, after beating New Eltham New Boys, 2-1 & 9-6 this week to go five points clear of the bottom team. 

Reece Stewart is the happiest of Hustlers at the moment, after winning all three of his frames for the second week running.
