Barnet’s scheduled game away at Halifax Town has been postponed after an early pitch inspection was called.

The pitch is considered frozen and therefore unusable and with temperatures not forecast to get a great deal warmer prior to the Bees’ arrival, an early decision was made to postpone the match for a later date.

It is hoped that the game will now be able to take place next Tuesday, February 16 instead.

The postponement means Barnet have now not played since February 2 when they were beaten 2-1 by Aldershot, with their next match not due to arrive until this weekend’s trip to Solihull Moors.

The Bees are winless in their last 14 league matches and currently sit bottom of the National League.

The news of the postponement was announced via a statement on the club website that also confirmed that anyone who had paid to watch the game online would have access to the rescheduled game next week.

It reads: “This evening’s Vanarama National League fixture with FC Halifax Town has been postponed following a pitch inspection earlier this morning at The Hive London.

Upon inspection, the pitch was deemed frozen and therefore unplayable, with the visitors set for a long journey and the forecast looking unlikely to get above freezing, an early decision to call the game off was made.

The Bees and the Shaymen have provisionally agreed to rearrange the fixture for next Tuesday (16th Feb, 7pm), but await final confirmation from The National League regarding this.

Anyone who had purchased a streaming pass for tonight’s match will be able to re-use it for the rearranged fixture.

The Bees are next due to be in action on Saturday, as Tim Flowers returns to former Club Solihull Moors.
