Millwall’s play-off hopes are all but over as the Lions fell to a 2-0 defeat to Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough.
Despite calls for a foul on Cooper in the build up to the opener, Millwall did little to deserve anything from the game.
Here is how the players rated:
Bartosz Bialkowski – 6
Nothing Bart could do for either goal. Let down by his defence today.
Mahlon Romeo – 6
Not many chances for Romeo to stretch his legs in this one but more fight than many of his teammates.
Shaun Hutchinson – 5
Still some concern over Hutch for me. Battles with Assombalonga but was second best to the Boro strikers today on too many occasions.
Alex Pearce – 6
Probably the best of Millwall’s three centre backs today but that wasn’t hard.
Jake Cooper – 6
I must have jinxed him after his match winning performance against Charlton. Gave away the penalty and could have been sent off, suspicions of a foul for the first, but a overall a day to forget for Coops.
Murray Wallace – 5
One of his worst games in a Millwall shirt for me. Struggled one on one and played a lot of sloppy passes.
Ryan Woods – 5
Couldn’t replicate his form against Charlton and had little impact on the midfield. His teammates struggled to find him despite hit best efforts.
Shaun Williams – 5
Very poor from Williams today and rightly subbed. He and Woods showed so much promise as a duo against Swansea but seems all at sea this time round.
Ben Thompson – 7
Arguably Millwall’s brightest spark in the first half, making decent forward runs and getting into dangerous positions.
Jed Wallace – 4
Jed has gone off a cliff since the return and it was highlighted today. Millwall need more from their talisman. He took too many touches today and didn’t create enough when needed.
Matt Smith – 6
Had two headers that he arguably should have done better with but struggled against two physical centre backs in Shotton and Fry.
Subs:
Tom Bradshaw – N/A
Connor Mahoney – 6
Made an impact early on after his introduction, delivering a good ball for Smith and seeing a strong shot saved.
Jayson Molumby – N/A
Billy Mitchell – N/A
Shane Ferguson – N/A
