Millwall had to settle for a point as Birmingham held out for a 0-0 draw at a frosty Den on Wednesday night.

The Blues remain unbeaten in 2020 as they frustrated the home side.

Millwall will be disappointed not to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s defeat away to Wigan.

There was only one change for Millwall, with Rowett handing a first start to Mason Bennett, after he impressed off of the bench at Wigan last Saturday.

The game got off to a flying start, with both sides going close early on.

Scott Hogan latched on to a long ball to poke wide of the Millwall goal.

Millwall responded well, putting Lee Camp’s goal under pressure from set pieces.

Jed Wallace forced a save from the Blue’s keeper after Mason Bennett’s whipped cross was nodded back by Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

The frantic start cooled somewhat after the first ten minutes; the chilly conditions being felt.

Despite the game getting slightly scrappy, Millwall were having the better of it, keeping pressure on the away side.

There wasn’t much action for the rest of the half, Millwall’s set pieces dried up, Birmingham came into it slightly, but nothing much to get punters off their seats.

Birmingham had the ball in the back of the net early in the second half, but Kristian Pedersen’s volley was ruled out for a push on Jake Cooper, a let off for the Lions who failed to deal with Marc Roberts’ long throw.

Neither side looked happy at 0-0, with both committing players forward and looking to break on the counter.

Jayson Molumby drew a good save from Camp on 61 minutes, his edge of the box effort tipped around the post.

Camp was forced into action a few minutes later. Mahlon Romeo delivered a great ball from the right but Bodvarsson’s header was well kept out.

Millwall kept threatening but couldn’t find the final touch.

Romeo fizzed another excellent ball across the six-yard box, Tom Bradshaw was inches away from capitalising.

As time was slipping away, the hosts continued to press, Matt Smith couldn’t direct his header goal-wards as he met another lovely cross from Romeo.

Alas, the Birmingham back four held strong and kept out the home side.

They Blues will be the happier of the two with the point, Millwall didn’t quite do enough to get the win.
