Naby Sarr was the toast of Addicks fans after his towering display in Charlton's 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

The defender’s pinpoint cross from the left was met sumptuously by Lyle Taylor at the back post to slot home the only goal of the game at the City Ground.

Victory sent Lee Bowyer’s men six points clear of the drop zone and filled support with confidence about avoiding relegation.

Sarr, 26, played on the left side of a back three against Forest and was as influential going forward as he was in defence.

Stepping out of the line, intercepting, making tackles, and even having time to clip his own cross bar, all of the Frenchman’s attributes were on show against Sabri Lamouchi’s outfit.

Sarr is often seen as the weak link in Charlton’s defence, but against Forest he was everything but, and the Addick’s faithful weren’t shy in letting him know what they thought of his outstanding display.
