Naby Sarr was the toast of Addicks fans after his towering display in Charlton's 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.
The defender’s pinpoint cross from the left was met sumptuously by Lyle Taylor at the back post to slot home the only goal of the game at the City Ground.
Victory sent Lee Bowyer’s men six points clear of the drop zone and filled support with confidence about avoiding relegation.

Sarr, 26, played on the left side of a back three against Forest and was as influential going forward as he was in defence.
Stepping out of the line, intercepting, making tackles, and even having time to clip his own cross bar, all of the Frenchman’s attributes were on show against Sabri Lamouchi’s outfit.
Sarr is often seen as the weak link in Charlton’s defence, but against Forest he was everything but, and the Addick’s faithful weren’t shy in letting him know what they thought of his outstanding display.
Cowards will say Virgil van Dijk is the best centre back in the world. Can he put in balls like this from Naby? I think not #cafc https://t.co/Y0YWXLHxrn

What a frustrating player Naby Sarr is, an absolute unit but either a absolute genius or a complete liability. Could be a total star if he was consistent #cafc

Naby Sarr gets so much stick from #cafc fans. Sometimes it's justified (after Millwall) and sometimes it seems to me as if he's made a bit of a scapegoat for the teams failings. But... that cross for Taylor last night was absolute, pure, unadulterated filth 👏🏽⚽️

Naby can't NOT be my MOTM tonight - such a strong defensive display, garnished by an orgasmic assist. Erhun was also fantastic, but only played for 59 minutes. And, goal aside, Lyle won so much in the air, and covered an unbelievable amount of ground. So proud of them all! #cafc

Naby Sarr’s performance tonight infuriates me as much as it pleases me. How can he play like Virgil Van Djik one week then Roger Johnson the week after ? 🤔🤷🏼♂ #cafc

Naby Sarr man of the match. Absolutely outstanding tonight, didn’t put a single foot wrong for 95 minutes, stepped out and won the ball time after time and a ridiculous assist for the goal #cafc
