Charlton are finally seeing light at the end of the injury tunnel as Lee Bowyer confirmed Lyle Taylor and Chuks Aneke will feature at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The Addicks have struggled to cope with a mountain of injuries as their early season form took a downward turn as they saw as many as 12 players in treatment room.

Saturday’s trip to the Riverside however, could hopefully see the return of attackers Taylor and Aneke who have been out since the end of August and the start of November respectively.

“We’ve got a couple back hopefully,” Bowyer said.

“Lyle and Chuks will be on the bench if they get through training today and tomorrow.

“They’ve been outside a while now, running and doing everything they need to do.

“Today is the first day joining us.

“The first game back we can’t go and chuck them in from the start, the most important thing is to integrate them back into the group.”

Conor Gallagher will also be available for seletion after servign his match ban for picking up five yellow cards, whilst Tom Lockyer will serve his match ban for receiving his fifth booking in last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

Old friends at Boro

The fixture between ‘Boro and Charlton pits two sides who are currently sitting bottom of the form guide.

Sitting three places below Charlton in 20th, Boro have won just once in their previous outings whilst Charlton are winless in seven and having picked up just two points in that run.

The head to head also sees old Leeds Untied friends reacquainted as Jonathan Woodgate and Lee Bowyer will prowl the touchline.

“We played together and travelled all over Europe, I’m looking forward to seeing him.

“Robbie Kean is his number two too, it’ll be nice to see them.

“It’ll be a tough game, never easy going there, it’s a tough place to go, but we’ll turn up and try and do our best for sure.”
