Josh Walker’s goal ensured Barnet took a point against a resilient Dagenham & Redbridge side at the Chigwell Construction stadium on Saturday.

Angelo Balanta volleyed the Daggers in front after 40 minutes but Walker levelled before the break, picking out the bottom corner to net his second in as many games.

Dagenham, unbeaten in 10 coming into the game, had the first big opportunity when James Dobson managed to lift the ball over Scott Loach, but he was unlucky to see it bounce back off the bar and into the goalkeeper’s clutches.

Loach was called into action again shortly after when Bagasan Graham broke clear but was thwarted by an excellent smothering save from the stopper.

There was nothing the Bees number one could do about the opening goal though, as Balanta fired a terrific volley past him from the edge of the box.

Barnet were behind for all of three minutes though, as Walker collected the ball and struck into the bottom corner to make it all square again.

Dagenham’s Joe Quigley fired over from the edge of the area to start the second half, while at the other end, Jack Taylor couldn’t quite get onto the end of Callum Reynolds’ long ball.

With the hosts finishing on top, they had the final chance to snatch all three points, but excellent backtracking by Ricardo Santos rushed Reece Grant into firing wide.

Barnet drop a place to sixth, ahead of Dagenham on goal difference, ahead of their home game against Bromley tomorrow night, kicking off at 7.45pm.
