Addicks boss Lee Bowyer was full of praise for his side after they came out with all three points against a Leeds side who he believes are the best in the division.
“We beat the best team in the league, and we deserved it," he said.
“We were under a lot of pressure, but we rode it and came out with three points.”
The 1-0 victory puts Charlton back into the play off positions, level on points with today’s opponents.
Bowyer was quick to praise his players for their effort and ability to hold on to the lead towards the end.

He continued: “I cannot praise the players enough, they put their bodies on the line for the team and that’s all I ask. We have instilled a 'never say die' attitude.”
Despite back-to-back defeats for the first time this season before today’s game, Bowyer had no doubts his team would bounce back.
“We did well enough in the two losses to come away with something. We still created plenty of chances in both games, so I wasn’t worried," he said.
“We have come some far in the last 18 months and have been able to carry over last seasons attitude and effort into this season.”
The boss also reiterated the importance of the fans in helping motivate the players to see out the game.

“The fans didn’t stop for 90 minutes, and that’s because they know we are giving everything out there on the pitch. We were exhausted last ten minutes, and they helped us over the line.”
The team’s effort was second to none, with multiple players putting bodies on the line late on to protect the slender lead. Bowyer believes he has implemented a strong work ethic which the players are all behind.
“I demand hard work; all the players know that. If you don’t work hard, you don’t play. The players all want to prove themselves and the work they put in as a group is unreal.”
The Addicks will be hoping to take the momentum of today’s win into Wednesday’s home game against fellow highflyers Swansea before a tough away trip to Fulham next Saturday.
