Here are five things we learned from Palace's 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Vicente Guaita - hero status loading

The Spaniard is surely one of Hodgson’s best buys, not just in his time at Palace, but possible in his career.

Arriving on a free transfer from Getafe in 2018, it took the 32-year-old until Christmas to claim the No.1 jersey from Wayne Hennessey.

Now, he’s indispensable.

There were question marks over his ability under the high ball in a physical league, but he’s answered those critics.

Against Wolves he produced a string of fine saves in the first half, including one outrageous stop from a Matt Doherty point-blank header.

He's fast becoming a fan favourite at the Palace, with not just what he says off the pitch but how he performs on it.

This Is Local London:

You felt with Hennessey between the sticks the back four weren’t 100% confident with the man behind them, in Guatia however they surely have one of the best shot stoppers in the division, don’t believe me? Watch….

Gary Cahill – A spent force? I don't think so

Like Guaita, Cahill offers his teammates a calmness and you can see the confidence from those around him grow knowing they have a Champions League winner in their defence.

This Is Local London:

He works superbly well with the sometimes erratic Mamadou Sakho next to him, and offers the experience, if not the pace, to those in front of him.

Coming from Chelsea he's a player used to seeing a lot of ball, and this is evident.

In just a handful of games you can see he’s always looking to play out of defence, looking to retain possession, something James Tomkins would do sparingly.

Some said he was past it when he arrived this summer, but on the evidence he’s been a great acquisition and the defence looks a lot more solid for his presence.

Holmesdale Fanatics - Worth the wait

There was a split in opinion when it was announced the Fanatics would be moving from B to E block, a more central location in the Holmesdale Lower.

Until now.

We all knew they were a huge contributing factor to the incredible atmosphere at Selhurst Park, and now, it’s only got better.

For 90 minutes you can hear the rumblings of the Eagles' die-hard ready to break out into song, chant, and cheer.

They may have stepped on a few toes to get to E block, but it was certainly worth it, some atmosphere.

Zaha – back to his best?

This Is Local London:

The second half against Wolves it was vintage Zaha.

Speed, trickery, passion, it was all on show.

There was, unfortunately, the lack of a goal or an assist. Vintage Zaha.

For however good the Ivorian is, and how threatening he is, Palace couldn’t make their dominance count, and Zaha needs to shoulder a large part of that blame.

He IS the Eagles biggest threat, he has the most freedom of the Selhurst Park outfit but that means he needs to deliver and deliver soon or there’ll be more disappointment this season.

Lucky Wolves?

They looked good in the first half but in the second half they seemed way off the pace.

Palace were good, but Wolves’ Europa League exploits on Thursday seemed to be catching up with them

They were lucky to get a point, largely thanks to the wasteful Palace frontline, but it’d take a very brave man to back an equally successful season for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this campaign.
