John Lundstram's 47th minute strike earned Chris Wilder's newly promoted Blades a first win of the season at Bramall Lane and left Roy Hodgson's men still looking for their first goal of the season.
A goalless draw in their opening fixture with Everton at Selhurst Park last Saturday, fans travelled north expecting a performance with more endeavour.
They were left disappointed.
And the man that was in the firing line, the manager, Roy Hodgson.
The manger may have been at the forefront of the criticism, but fans were equally as critical of a performance lacking in fight, passion and creativity.
