Charlton have signed Erhun Oztumer on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old was a free transfer following his departure from Bolton Wanderers after being granted permission by the EFL to leave.

Midfielder Otumer, will be available to play for the Addicks immediately as his request to leave Wanderers was submitted before last Thrusday's Deadline Day deadline.

Oztumer nearly joined Charlton on loan in January before complications scuppered the move despite the player passing a medical at the club's Sparrows Lane training ground.

"It feels great," the Charlton Academy product said on his return.

"It's nice to see a few faces I haven't seen in a while. I'm very happy to be here and looking forward to enjoying football again.

"I'm a local lad and I've kept an eye on Charlton since I left, so I'm happy to be happy to be here, playing in the Championship. The team has started really well so I'll fight for my place, work hard and see where it takes us."

Oztumer is manager Lee Bowyer's 13th signign of a hectic transfer window, and he will compete with new signings Josh Culle, Jonny Williams, Conor Gallagher, Jonathan Leko and Sam Field for a place in the midfield.

"It's a bonus one for us," Bowyer said.

"He's a very good player, he scores goals, gets assists, he's a local lad.

"He brings a bit of flair and that craft and cleverness in the final third. I'm looking forward to working with him."
