Leyton Orient forward James Dayton has signed a new one-year contract at the club, with the option of a further year.

Dayton is currently recovering from an ankle injury suffered in the National League match against Sutton United last season.

However, he was one of several players to be offered new deals for the coming campaign back in the Football League, though it's unlikely he will be ready for the start of the season having only recently returned to training.

Interim head coach Ross Embleton told the club website: "We're absolutely delighted. With someone like James, it is easy to forget how good of a footballer he is and the impact that he has. His personality and the way he imposes himself on the group means he has a significant role to play off-the-pitch, and just as important one on it"
