Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers are prepared to go toe-to-toe in signing Charlton’s Joe Aribo according to reports.
The Addick’s midfielder has gathered a lot of attention on Charlton’s road to promotion and the Daily Mail and the Daily Record have reported both Steven Gerrard and Neil Lennon are keen on the 22-year-old.
Charlton have been negotiation with Aribo for the past six-months to warn off suitors and have offered the Academy product fresh terms with his contract up this summer.
His performances, and price tag, have alerted a number of clubs including Arsenal, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Southampton, as well as interest from oversees.
Aribo had a career high of ten goals in League one last season, playing a pivotal role in Charlton’s road to Wembley and play-off win.
Charlton boss Lee Bowyer insists he wants Aribo to be at the club next season but with his own future unresolved it’s believed Aribo is unwilling to commit.
