Lyle Taylor is a man who has received plenty of praise this season and it keeps coming.

This time it’s from a former Addick who knows a striker when he sees one.

Himself adored by the Charlton faithful, Kevin Lisbie has been impressed by the 21-goal ace since his arrival in the summer, both by how he carries himself on and off the pitch.

“I’m a down to earth guy, and I was speaking to him (Taylor) not long ago and he’s similar, he’s such a humble lad,” said a modest Lisbie.

“I’m not really a footballer, I’m just someone who plays football.

“I understand it is a gift to play football so I try and treat everyone the same, fans or players, and I think he's the same."

On-field, Lisbie admits he’s part of the Lyle Taylor fan club and believes the former AFC Wimbledon man could play at a higher-level despite being overlooked for the League One Team of The Year which has recently been released.

“He’s a brilliant player and he’s hitting form at a great time,” the ten-cap Jamaican international continued.

“He’s not just a goals scorer, it’s his movement, it’s really good and he’s one that could play at a lot higher level.

“If they don’t go up I’m sure there’ll be a lot of clubs looking at him.

“Premiership? I’d say Championship at the minute, then go from there.

“It’s a massive gap from League One to Premiership, I’m not saying he can’t, but the Championship itself is a really hard league, and you need to establish yourself there before the Premiership.”
