Neil Harris has called on home support as he looks to guide his Millwall side to Championship survival.

After Jake Cooper’s dramatic injury-time equaliser at Sheffield United, Harris’s men sit two points and two places above Rotherham in the relegation zone with a game in hand.

With five games remaining the Millwall boss has called upon the Lions faithful to get behind his men beginning with Friday’s visit of Brentford to The Den

“We need the points; we want the points,” he told Millwall FC Online.

“In the last five games of the season, we have to play in the same way we have in the past five weeks.

“Three of those matches being at The Den will be vital for us, and we quickly come away from the praise of the Sheffield United game to go into a London derby against a terrific footballing side.

“The message I will say to the fans is to come and see the game – come to watch and support your team who may not have played well all season, but at the moment are performing really well.”

Four days after Brentford’s visit, Harris takes his side to promotion chasing Aston Villa, and the magnitude of importance of both fixtures are not lost on the Millwall manager.

“It’s a massive weekend for us,”

“What a weekend – and this is why we’re involved in the game. There is definitely pressure on us all, but let’s enjoy it, embrace it.

“What a weekend it really is for our fans.

“We’re playing at a level that we want to be at as a club – of course without taking it for granted – and I think what supporters and everyone within football has seen this year is how good this division is.”
