Watford's out on loan goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann received a bewildering red card while on duty for Kilmarnock against Rangers last night.

The Austrian, who has been in good form in Scotland this season, was sent off just 25 minutes into the match when he appeared to do little more than raise his arms.

After consultation with one of his assistants, referee Alan Muir brandished the red card much to Bachmann's dismay.

Rangers went on to win the tie 5-0, with Alfredo Morelos scoring four goals, but Killie manager Steve Clark believes the officials more than played their part in the result.

After the game he said: "The red card is a joke.

"If that's the standards we might as well go home. Why speak? It's every week.

"You'll probably write about Morelos' four goals but the officials decided the game. It's embarrassing.

"The goalie just lifted his arms. Every goalie does it every week. It's embarrassing. How can I talk about football tonight?"
