It is understood that Crystal Palace are readying a bid for Serie B’s highly rated David Okereke.

Reports in Italy suggest a bid of £4million is being readied for the Nigerian who has scored six goals and assisted eight for Spezia in Italy’s second division.

The ‘tutto mercato web‘ reports come after scouts were sent to watch his side’s 4-4 draw with Brescia last week.

Juventus are also monitoring Okereke as are Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It’s no secret that Roy Hodgson has been in the market for a centre forward despite Connor Wickham and Christian Benteke both returning to fitness.

Having been disappointed in their efforts in signing Dominic Solanke earlier in the transfer window, Hodgson and Palace will be hoping any deal can go through before the window closes on Thursday.

Scott Dann

On potential that players leaving the club amid interest from Fulham in Scott Dann, Roy Hodgson moved to assure fans the club are not looking to let any more go.

Hodgson has seen Jason Puncheon, Alexander Sorloth, Jonny Williams, Jordon Mutch and Sullay Kaikai, all depart this month with only Lucas Perri and Bakaray Sako coming in.

“We’re not in a position where we can let players go. We’ve let eight go since the summer, we’ve trimmed down enormously.

“We’re not looking to move players out. If anything, we’ve got a vacancy for someone to come in if the right man turns up.”

Dann, who featured in the Eagles FA Cup fourth round win over Tottenham on Sunday has recently returned from a long-term ligament injury but it’s thought he wants assurances over game time before making any decision on his future.
