Neil Harris expects to face an Everton side 'worth a lot of money' on Saturday afternoon when both sides clash in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Lions go in to the tie as underdogs against an inconsistent Everton side managed by Marco Silva.

Despite the gulf in sides, Harris, who's team boast an impressive undefeated record against Premier League sides at The Den, remained realistic.

“Let's be honest, we are up against an Everton side that is world class," said Harris.

"They are a really good side with huge amounts of money spent on recruiting their players, they create a lot of chances every game.

"We have to enjoy it but we have to stand up to it and make sure we have a gameplan that competes with Everton and tries to stop their strengths and try and utilise the ball going the other way.

"That is all you can do.

“You are playing the occasion. You hope they don't come at their best to give you a chance of winning and my players are at their best.”

In Form Lions

Millwall have seen an upturn of form recently with them accumulating ten points from a total of 15 since Boxing day and Harris believes his side can channel their league momentum into the FA Cup.

“On the day, we can beat anyone in our division and the division above.

"We are in better form individually and collectively.

"We were disappointed not to win at Boro last week – that is how good we were, we are gaining in confidence.

"We know a big challenge awaits us, but the players can go in and have a right go.

However, Harris has drawn the massive financial gap between the two sides and has warned his players not to underestimate Everton.

“ Their team will be worth a lot of money that goes out against us.

"Marco [Silva] has got an excellent squad who, in my opinion, will come good with time.

"He will pick a really strong 11 and it will be a challenge for us.

“We have to stand up to it, we have to be defensively resolute and rely on back four at times and sometimes the goalie.”

FA Cup History is kind

The Lions have a great record in the FA Cup despite their financial restraints, reaching the quarter finals in 2017, the Lions also boast a semi-final in 2013 and a the final in 2004.

Harris was part of the squad that reached the final in 2004 and voiced his love for the competition.

“I always talk fondly about the FA Cup because growing up, I loved watching the competition and MOTD and watching the final.

“This competition has been good to us over the last 14 years. We are proud of that, really proud of that. We have not been in the Premier League. We have not been in the top division since the late 80s so we have to enjoy success where we can.

“To get past Hull in the third round to play Everton is massive for us. Prize money, opportunity for the players to play in front of the TV cameras and a sold out Den.

"It is special. It is the opportunity the FA cup gives you.”
