Neil Harris’ men will be travelling to Stoke City this weekend in search of their first away victory this season.

Gary Rowett’s men are unbeaten in nine games and now sit five points away from the play offs so a victory against the Lions is the least to be expected.

They head into the fixture on the back of a sour 2-2 draw with Aston Villa after an 84th minute Jonathan Kodjia strike share the points at Villa Park.

Stoke’s Star Man

Joe Allen may have had an average season last year in the Premier League but the Welsh international has rediscovered the same form that led him to join Liverpool back in 2012.

The 28 year-old is Stoke’s main man, having scored five goals and assisted three already this season.

The central midfielder pieces everything together for the Trotters, from being the transitional player in attack to being the deep lying midfielder that sprays passes. Neil Harris’ main focus will be having to shut him out the game if the Lions are going to gain any points on Saturday afternoon.

Allen is on a goal scoring spree at the moment, having netted three in his last five games he is one of the Championships inform players.

Gary Rowett will be looking to Allen to resuscitate Stoke’s play off push by carrying his form into the game against the Lions.

The Manager

It was no surprise when Gary Rowett left Derby County to join Stoke in the summer, as the manager has been trying to prove himself since his premature sacking at Birmingham City in 2016, despite being 7th in the table.

Stoke seem to be plateauing under Rowett after many had tipped them to be promotion favourites at the start of the season.

However, unlike at Birmingham and Derby, Rowett has had the parachute funds from the Premier League to play with and has added some firepower to what was an aging Stoke team.

The likes of Benik Afobe, Tom Ince and James McClean all have Premier League experience and Rowett will be confident his team will extend their unbeaten run to double figures against Millwall, who have only gained three points away from home this season.
