Tariq Fosu’s skill and direct style made him a fans’ favourite at The Valley.

In his debut season last year such was the form of the attacker the fans voted him runner up in their Player of the Year .

They would’ve been hoping his performances continued into this season but it couldn’t have got off to a worse start than a red card in his first outing for the club at Southend.

He did make amends when he got his next run out by scoring from the spot in the 2-2 draw at Luton.

Since then he’s yet to hit the heights of last season's campaign but there are signs the former Reading man is finding his way back.

Lee Bowyer knows the importance of the midfielder and the quality he can bring. He also knows that Fosu is someway short of last season’s form and has given him as many minutes as possible to rediscover the attacking threat his side needs.

With Fosu’s contract up at the end of the season it’ll be interesting to see what happens in January. Bowyer will not want to lose him, but he knows any decisions regarding money, transfers(in and out) are out of his hands.
