How did the Palace player's fare in their 1-0 defeat by Spurs?

Wayne Hennessey – Another solid performance from the Welsh international. Could do little for the goal and made a fine save from Kane in the first half. Handled the conditions better than the World Cup winner at the other end and had more to do. 7

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – the 20-year-old never gets phased. Both in attack and defence he oozes quality, will be a relief when the transfer window is closed and he’s still on Palace’s books. Covers the entire right-flank and very rarely gets beaten. 8

Patrick van Aanholt – Quiet first half as Tottenham pressed but did his defensive duties well and limited them to very few chances. Got forward more in the second half as the game stretched but will be disappointed with a few balls he put in. 6

Mamadou Sakho – faultless this week. Made a fantastic block from Sissoko in the first half and kept Kane under-wraps for the entire game. The partnership with Tomkins came under fire last week but he covered himself in glory this week. A solid game. 7

James Tomkins – a rock at the back and proved that last week’s performance at Chelsea was a one off. Took a booking, and an injury, for the team in the first half which cut his game short as he limped off on the hour. Hodgson will be hoping it’s not long term. A real positive point of the game. 7

Max Meyer – looked stranded on the wing, again. Obviously yearning for a central role. He won’t get it if he continues to put in mediocre performances. Looked every inch off the pace a six-month spell out would do to you. 4

Luka Milivojevic - the captain is off-form. Having set such high-standards last season the crowd expect the same from their leader. Dispossessed twice in the first half and it could’ve been costly had it not been for the keeper. Kouyate’s arrival may have unsettled him as they build a new partnership. 5

Cheikhou Kouyate – always positive in possession and ran at Tottenham’s back four. Broke up play well and nearly scored in the first half. That said, he never really looks in control of his own legs, let alone the ball. 6

James McArthur – used on the right again by Hodgson the Scotsman drifted in and out of the game. Nearly set up Kouyate only to see his header cleared at the last minute. A workhorse in the midfield and never gives less than his all. 6

Jordan Ayew – Looks a little lost in Palace colours, not for want of trying. Doesn’t possess electric pace, clinical finishing, aerial ability, or a killer pass. Linked the play up well and brought the full backs in to the game, but as a striker-especially one at Palace, you need goals. 6

Andros Townsend – shone in Zaha’s absence but hard to play with no focal point next to him. Often found himself down the flank isolated with no-one in the box. Ran tirelessly for 90minutes and a thorn in the Spurs backline. Will crave Benteke and Zaha’s return though. 7

Subs:

Martin Kelly - brought on for the injured Tomkins and fitted in well. Made a great block before Foyth headed the rebound home, and an excellent tackle on Son late on. 7

Jeffrey Schlupp – changed the game and got forward and was unlucky his strike was saved by an impressive Lloris. 7

Alexander Sorloth – despite missing a one-on-one the Scandinavian impressed. His height causes Tottenham problems at the back and he linked up well. Deserves a start. 8
