Marco Silva’s substitutes scored twice in as many minutes for Everton to help down Crystal Palace late on at Goodison Park.

Luka Milivojevic’s missed penalty proved to be crucial as Dominic Calvert-Lewin came off the bench to break the deadlock in the 87th minute.

And super-sub Cenk Tosun doubled the visitors’ lead 120 seconds later, handing Palace their third consecutive Premier League defeat.

Here’s how we rated Crystal Palace’s players…

Wayne Hennessey – 6 – Made some clinical saves – particularly against Theo Walcott – before he was beaten by some well-taken strikes in the dying minutes.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7 – Can’t say Bernard had too much joy down his flank. Even when caught out his recoveries made up for it.

James Tomkins – 7 – Came close to hitting the target with a header. Made life difficult for Everton’s striker inside the box.

Mamadou Sakho – 6 – First to everything, though preyed upon when in possession. Had no idea about Calvert-Lewin for the first goal, Tosun caught him out in the second.

Patrick van Aanholt – 7 – Had his moments of effectiveness in both areas of the pitch.

Luka Milivojevic – 5 – Not a great day for the skipper. Made a few errant passes, went into the referee’s book for a bad challenge, and missed a penalty.

Cheikhou Kouyaté – 8 – A real threat going forward for Palace, nearly gave them the lead with his header.

James McArthur – 6 – Did well with what he was instructed to do, ensured Palace were not stretched and did the simple things well.

Wilfried Zaha – 7 – Can’t remember him having any chances at goal but frustrated Everton – held the ball up well and won fouls constantly.

Jeffrey Schlupp – 6 – Got himself about as expected though it wasn’t a memorable performance.

Andros Townsend – 6 – Delivered some strong crosses, made himself a nuisance. That said, the front three had limited chances and couldn’t quite beat the defence – himself included.
