Charlton and Brighton fans marched to the Valley this afternoon in another striking demonstration against Roland Duchatelet.
The Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet (CARD) organised the pre-match march as they continue their efforts to force the Belgian millionaire to sell up.
Duchatelet was in SE7 this week holding talks with CEO Katrien Meire and other senior officials at the club.
Charlton’s relegation from the Championship was confirmed on Tuesday night as the Addicks failed to beat basement side Bolton Wanderers.
“CARD is organising protests before, during and after the Brighton match, starting with a march to the Valley from Charlton Church Lane at 2.15pm on Saturday,” the organisation said in a statement.
“The group will assemble fans outside the Charlton Liberal Club, opposite the junction with Sundorne Road, from 2pm.
Brighton fans show their support at the Valley
“They will also be joined supporters of opponents Brighton, who are turning out to back CARD partly in acknowledgement of the contribution Addicks supporters made to their Fans United day at the Goldstone Ground 19 years ago.”
The group, which police believed to be around 5,000 strong, marched towards the Valley singing anti-Duchatelet songs.
In solidarity with Charlton's cause, Brighton fans also weighed in with songs against the Belgian during the game from the away end.
