Ian Holloway has revealed plans to overhaul Millwall’s squad before the end of the January transfer window.

Millwall were on Saturday held to a 3-3 draw in the FA Cup third round by League One Bradford, forcing Holloway’s team into a replay and leaving them with only a solitary victory since October.

The manager has already completed the transfer of winger Paris Cowan-Hall from Wycombe, however, and is determined to find further recruits for his struggling side in the coming weeks as Cardiff near the signing of left-back Scott Malone.

“The window is open, let’s get cracking,” Holloway (above) said. “I’m going to have to swap and wheel and deal, we will probably have a completely different set of players at the end of January because I cannot let it slide like this. It isn’t going to work.

“People need to know their future: is it here, is it there, like Scotty Malone now knows. Then you get clarity. When you get clarity you can stick to tasks and be more consistent.”

The manager, who this week completes his first year as Millwall manager, also explained why it was he spoke to a supporter at Saturday’s final whistle.

“I wanted to shake that fan’s hand at the end. He’s got every right to say what he said,” Holloway explained.

“He was giving it loads. He said, ‘You made me believe (you would improve results)’ and I asked him to let me concentrate on the game.

“But I wanted to shake his hand and reassure him that I’m going to get us a better balance in this transfer window.”
