The sequel of the Black Panther film produced by Marvel studios Wakanda forever made its debut on the 11th November 2022. Ticket sales have soared since then as many want to pay their tributes to actor Chadwick Boseman who died on August 28th 2020 at the age of 43 from Colon cancer. Marvel having not decided to recast the character of T’Challa revolved the main focus of the movie around the cast members who featured in the first movie including up and coming star Letitia Wright. The movie received 4/5 stars however many feel it cannot come close to the original staring Boseman.

It was reported that director Ryan Coogler finished the script for the new movie just weeks before Boseman’s tragic death and dealing with studio demands for a new script the result Coogler decided on was ‘Black Panther: Wakanda forever’, paying a heart-breaking tribute to the passing of the character T’Challa as well as Boseman.

Letita Wright who plays Shuri – the sister of T’Challa honoured Chadwick Boseman by wearing a suit during the premiere of Wakanda forever almost identical to the one worn by Boseman for the 2018 academy awards.

The film follows the character of Shuri as she is burdened by being unable to save her brother who becomes suddenly and fatally ill, including characters such as Okoye (T’Challa’s most loyal soldier) played by Danai Gurira and his love Nakia, played by Lupita Nyong’o.

Although Wakanda forever is not necessarily a film about grief, there is a certain atmosphere of sorrow as the actresses’ real emotions are portrayed in the film when talking about Bosmens character T’Challa.
