SPACE exploration documentaries seem to be all the rage right now.
With popular boffin Prof Brian Cox taking to our Sunday night primetime screens and the seemingly never ending TV series, The Sky at Night reaching it's 700th episode, it appears that now is the ideal time to be an intergalactic geek - something I'm quite happy about and something that clearly cements my reputation as a nerd, as I was handed this blu-ray to review by Freetime's editor.
Part of a series, this instalment explores seven various wonders of the Solar System.
Ranging from the popular aspects such as Jupiter's red spot, to the more obscure and lesser known wonders such as the volcanic mountain on Mars, Olympus Mons, the show takes the viewer on a virtual journey, detailing other worlds with an impressive use of CGI.
Despite being made especially for 3D, the blu-ray does include the option to watch the show in traditional 2D. Since I'm not uber rich, I had to make do with 2D, however, the picture quality is still very impressive.
Clocking in at 47 minutes and featuring no special features, you don't really get much big bang for your buck, but if you have an interest in space exploration or are looking for a high quality blu-ray to show off your 3D kit, Seven Wonders of the Universe is worth checking out.
The Universe: 7 Wonders of the Solar System is released on Blu-ray on March 21.
