The latest teenage stabbing victim in London has been named as 19-year-old Lejean Richards, police said.

The Metropolitan police and London Ambulance Service were called to Wolsey Court, off Westbridge Road in Battersea, at 7.52pm on Tuesday.

A 19-year-old man was found with stab injuries and died at the scene at 8.36pm despite paramedics battling to save his life.

The force said they believe he was attacked by a group and were “keeping an open mind” about the motive.

Three men have since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman said: “At this early stage in the investigation, we are keeping an open mind about the motive of the attack.

“The stabbing took place close to a bus stop on Westbridge Road, opposite Wolsey Court, and it is believed the victim was attacked during an altercation involving a group of up to six people.”

A post-mortem examination will take place on Wednesday evening.

The stabbing took place less than half a mile from Prince George’s primary school, Thomas’s Battersea.

On Wednesday morning the Metropolitan Police said two men, aged 19 and 27, had been arrested on suspicion of murder after presenting themselves at a central London hospital.

The men were taken to separate central London police stations for questioning, the force said.

Another man, aged 20, is also in custody after he was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area of the bus stop between 7.30pm and 8pm on Tuesday or who may have dashcam footage to get in touch.
