A motorist has been charged after she was allegedly caught driving while more than six times over the legal alcohol limit.
The 51-year-old was arrested after police received a report of a car being driven erratically on the A90, in the Cramond area of Edinburgh, at about 9am on Monday.
The woman has been charged with drink driving and is set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, police said.
Inspector Roger Park, of the city’s road policing unit, said: “In this incident, the breath test showed a reading of over six times the legal limit. Fortunately, no-one was injured.
“Drinking and driving can kill. I cannot emphasise enough that if you get behind the wheel you should not consume alcohol.”
