Passengers on some of the busiest rail routes in the country have suffered fresh travel delays, with warnings of more disruption this weekend.
Poor rail conditions and a passenger taken ill on a train were blamed for disruption to South Western Railway services to and from London Waterloo on Wednesday.
Passengers were advised not to travel on SWR on Monday this week because of overrunning engineering works.
SWR also said a reduced service will run on most of its network on Saturday because of the latest strike by the Rail, Maritime and Transport union in the guards dispute.
Some routes will not have a train service or a replacement bus service.
Network Rail engineering works will disrupt SWR services on Sunday, with buses replacing some trains.
