An independent toy sellers in Epsom scooped a prestigious national award last week.
Toy Barnhaus staff celebrated on Tuesday (January 21) after the independent retailers were named "2019 Independent Multi Store Toy Retailer of the Year" at the annual Toy Industry Awards evening at Olympia in London.
The store were chosen for the award among stiff competition by a committee of industry members as well as the British Toy and Hobby Association at the British Toy and Hobby Association headquarters in London earlier this year.
Toy Barnhaus run several outlets including the Epsom branch across Surrey and Sussex.
They are owned and managed by two ex-Woolworths managers who were made redundant in 2009.
Stephen Barnes and Mark Buschhaus subsequently channelled their expertise in toys and retail into the new project, and have opened eight stores since March 2009 under the motto "if we haven’t got it, we will get it for you”.
