Surrey Police released an e-fit in the hunt for a man suspected of conning an elderly woman from Addlestone out of thousands of pounds.
Police said that the suspect impersonated a detective constable on making contact with the victim — an 88-year-old woman from Addlestone — on Sunday October 27.
"Over the course of four days, the suspect persuaded the victim to withdraw money on a number of occasions arranging to meet them at their home address in Addlestone.
"In total, the 88 year old victim was defrauded out of over £20,000," a spokesperson for the police said.
DC Charlotte Irwin who is investigating the case, provided further key details that might help:
"We are urging the public to get in touch if they either recognise the man in the e-fit image or have any more information for us. If you were travelling along Ongar Hill, Addlestone and have a dash cam please check the times between 11:20 to 11:40 on the 27th, 28th October and 11:45 to 11:55 on the 30th October 2019," she said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference number PR/45190115702.
