A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a body in a derelict Wimbledon school.
Police discovered the body of 50-year-old Jan Pomiechowsk at the former school in Rowan Road at around 9pm on Thursday.
A postmortem examination gave the cause of death as severe abdominal injuries and police say they believe he died after being assaulted in Rowan Road.
It is believed the man may have been homeless and living in the derelict school at the time of his death.
An incident room has opened at Sutton under Detective Chief Inspector Mick Duthie.

- A 29-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident. He is currently being held in custody.
