In Division One the season started with a derby between promoted Hartley and Dartford at Culvey Close.
Hartley batted first and, thanks a splendid 73 from Tim Clark, they made a respectable 185-6 in their allotted overs. Gary Newman was the pick of the Dartford bowlers, returning figures of 4-46.
The Dartford innings was given impetus by a tremendous knock of 76 from Ian Rossiter, while Ron Turner's unbeaten 58 ensured the visitors reached their target with the loss of just four wickets.
This Saturday, Dartford entertain Canterbury at Pilgrims Way, while Hartley have another home game, this time against Blackheath. Both games are scheduled to start at 1.30pm.
