A photographer to the stars is auctioning 31 signed prints of musicians and artists for charity.

Matt Humphrey, 32, snapped singer Noddy Holder and soul vocalist Dionne Bromfield as part of an exhibition in aid of The African Workshop.

The 31 exhibition features portraits of 31 celebrities which hopes to help raise funds for free education and a safe haven for street children in Mali.

KT Tunstall, indie band Razorlight and singer and radio presenter Lauren Laverne were also photographed for the project, which aimed to take photos of 31 people in as many days.

The project is a repeat of last year’s venture which raised more than £14,000 in aid of Colitis UK (NACC) and Crohn’s and featured actors and directors like Kevin Spacey and Sheila Hancock.

Humphrey said: “I count myself very lucky to share these moments with all these incredible musicians and to have something quite different, quite natural, and not set up and not forced - something that is anti-X Factor.

“It’s more to do with the music and the art, rather than the celebrity.”

Dionne Bromfield’s godmother, the late Amy Winehouse, died a little over a month before Bromfield’s photograph was taken.

Humphrey saw her at V Festival, one of the first times Bromfield had performed Winehouse’s ballad Love is a Losing Game.

He said: “Dionne Bromfield’s voice is just incredible, it’s very similar to Amy’s, and I was really touched they agreed to it.”

Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery also sat for the photographer.

She said: “Matt captures something that other photographers don’t, and that’s why I’ve always liked him.”

However Humphrey will not be repeating the same charitable mission next August, as he will be taking on his biggest project - getting married.

The exhibition of limited edition signed prints is being sold by a silent auction at the Riverhouse Barn, Walton, on November 30 to December 18.
