A 20-year-old rapist who attacked the same stranger twice on different days has been convicted.

Onile Huggins, of Mawby Street, SW8 was found guilty of two counts of rape after a two week trial at the Inner London Crown Court.

The sex beast first raped his 22-year-old victim on April, 12 2010 in Stockwell, Lambeth.

The young woman had been visiting family and was making her way home along South Lambeth Road at about midnight, when she passed Huggins who was standing on the pavement.

He followed her, stopped her and forced her onto the front area of a house where he raped her behind some wheelie bins.

Three months later on July 14 the same woman was making her way home via Dorset Road when she noticed Huggins standing by a local school. The woman recognised him as the man who had raped her in April.

Huggins put his arm around her waist and forced the petrified young woman into a local children's play area where he again raped her.

After her ordeal the woman fled the park and made her way home where she reported the rapes to the police.

Detectives from the MPS Sapphire Command launched an investigation and with the assistance of the victim produced an e-fit of the suspect which was circulated.

Forensic officers searched the scene of the second rape where they found a used condom from which they identified DNA matching Huggins and the victim.

Huggins was arrested on October 9 by police officers in Lambeth who recognised him walking down South Lambeth Road near to the scene of the first rape.

He was interviewed at length but refused to answer any questions. During a search of his property officers found hundreds of packets of unused condoms.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Helen Hamilton, Sapphire Command, said: "I would like to pay tribute to the victim who was incredibly brave in reporting both the rapes to the police so that we could investigate. She suffered a terrible ordeal but had the courage to give evidence against Huggins in court.

"I hope that her bravery gives confidence to other victims of rape and sexual violence to come forward and report their ordeal to the police, no matter how unusual or different the circumstances are, specially trained detectives from Sapphire will listen, support and investigate your allegation fully."
