A woman was mauled to death by a dog last night.
Police were called to Demesne Road, in Wallington at 8.57pm to reports of a woman attacked by a dog.
London Ambulance Service, London Air Ambulance and police attended to find a woman, aged in her 40s, suffering from multiple dog attack injuries.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The dog, believed to be a Belgian Mastiff, was shot by police at the scene and a puppy was also removed from the property.
A post mortem examination is due to take place and the victim’s next of kin have yet to be informed.
Detectives from Sutton police are investigating.
Officers from the police’s specialist firearms unit, Trojan, shot the dog.
