POLICE today returned to the place where a 50-year-old teacher was last seen before she disappeared two weeks ago.

Sarah Flooks went missing on Thursday, March 2, after she left her home in Wanstead, east London, to drive to work at Monega Primary School in Forest Gate.

The Met revealed today that there was a possible sighting of Ms Flooks walking in Aldersbrook Road going towards Manor Park at about 7.45am on the day she went missing. There have been no further sightings of Ms Flooks.

Officers spoke to motorists and pedestrians on Aldersbrook Rd and distributed leaflets appealing for information about her whereabouts.

The Met's Dog Support Unit also patroled nearby parks and open spaces.

Last week her boyfriend of 30 years claimed that Ms Flooks may have been "under stress" over the school Ofsted inspection.

Her school was due to be visited by inspectors on the day she went missing.

Her car, a blue Ford Ka, was found at 3pm that day, parked and locked in Northumberland Avenue, Wanstead.

Detectives believe the car had probably not been moved since she arrived home from work the previous night, as Ms Flooks sometimes left her car there if there were no spaces in her own road.

She has not gone missing before and her disappearance is out of character.

Her boyfriend, John Mouzouros, said: "Sarah had been working round the clock and had been under a certain amount of stress.

"But all teachers are under stress and there was nothing unusual.

"I had fears that she might have been dragged into nearby bushes but the police forensics people have searched the area and found nothing.

"She left a note last Thursday morning saying she might go for a drink that evening from work but would call me at 6pm but never did.

"I hope she is well and safe and whatever the problem is she should contact someone."

DCI Phil Jones, who is leading the search, said: "We are urgently appealing for information about Sarah's whereabouts and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who might have seen her on Wednesday evening or first thing Thursday morning.

"We have no reason at this stage to explain her disappearance, which is totally out of character. We share her family's deep concerns and we are working extremely hard to find her."

Ms Flooks was wearing a three quarter length black coat and jeans when she left her home. She has distinctive shoulder length red hair, is about six feet tall and tends to wear glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Missing Persons Unit at Barkingside on 020 8345 3521.
